-all branciobdellids are leechlike ectocommensals on decapod crustaceans (Kathman & Brinkhurst 1998)

-found in natural and artifical lakes, roadside swamps and ditches and gravely streams (Hofman 1963)

-numerous species of crayfish in genera Procambarus and Orconectes serve as hosts (Hoffman 1963)
